4 weeks – Linus hits 10lbs!

We’ve made it to 4 weeks.  It was so tough, but we are starting to get the hang of being parents now.  Linus and I have gotten into our own rhythm.  My days are consumed with naps, feedings, and poops – but it’s so worth it.

Daddy has become a pro at giving baths.  This is a picture of Linus’ first bath after his belly button stump fell off.  He wasn’t too happy here, but he loves baths now.

Linus loves to play on the playmat.  He’s getting so big and strong!  He no longer fits in newborn diapers or clothes anymore.

Ah-gong finally came down from Canada when Linus was 10 days old.  Together we celebrated Canada Day with our newest little Canadian.

I can’t believe we’re about to make it to one month.  The time just flew by!

Day 3 – Sleepless nights

Wow, waking up every 2-3 hours is TOUGH!  But then I get moments when I see you smile and it’s all worth it.  At least PoPo is here to help.  We could never survive without her.

Day 1 – We’re heading home!

22 hrs after being born, we were released from the hospital and happy to head home!  This is Linus’ first car ride.  Daddy was so scared driving home that night.

That evening, you met the rest of the Maks.

First 伯伯 held you.

Then 伯娘.

Then with everyone!

You know how many people adore you Linus? Look at Alton 哥哥 give you a kiss!

38 weeks – He’s Here!

Introducing Linus Mak! Our little bundle of joy joined us on June 20, 2012 at 11:39pm. Weighing in at a whopping 7lbs, 7.8oz and 20 inches long!  Here is a picture of the big boy at birth.  Look at all that hair!

Linus’ entrance was pretty dramatic since he didn’t cry right away like I had expected.  Those moments where I saw his eyes opened, but not making noise were the longest moments of my life.  When he started to cry though, boy did he CRY!  We have to have a special thanks to Dr. Wu for helping me deliver a 7lb baby naturally.

This was my first chance to hold you.  Already I know I’m in love with you.

And here is your first bath.  You HATED it.  Good chance to keep working out that cry of yours.

And our first family photo. Mommy and Daddy were so happy to finally meet you!  Happy birthday Linus!

Daddy’s so proud of his big boy!

33 weeks – Happy Mother’s Day!

We’ve been SO busy this past weekend.  Saturday, we had so many errands to run and Sunday, we spent most of the morning/afternoon working on the house.  Got lots accomplished too!  Daddy learned to install ceiling lights with the help of uncle Kevin and we bought our dining room table on clearance for 1/2 price! Stuff in the home inspection that we could fix ourselves have been addressed too in the attic.  Phew!  I need a nap just thinking about it all.

Here’s the dining room table while it was still in the store.

Then Sunday night, we had Mother’s Day dinner with the family.  Do I count as a mother yet?  Since I didn’t get any flowers or cards, I guess I’ll have to wait until next year.  Maybe you’ll know to give me a kiss by then. :)

I really wish PoPo and Ah-Gong were here to celebrate with us too.  You know, PoPo really is the best.  You’ll really love her.  I know I do.

Love, Mommy

13 Weeks – Christmas

My dearest Maknugget,

It’s Christmas today, and you’ve reached 13 weeks.  Daddy bought you a big bag of green gummy bears for Christmas.  Only green ones!  Yum!

Yesterday, we had Christmas Eve dinner with the whole family -  嫲嫲, 爷爷, 阿公, 婆婆,伯伯, 伯娘, 吴婆婆, Alyssa姐姐, and Alton哥哥.   Then today, we feasted again!  A-gong made a turkey and it was delicious!  I think you thought so too.  This time next year, you will be joining us at this dinner table!
