Eliud Kipchoge says he expects to reveal there areno limits by getting the first man to break the two-hour marathon obstacle on Saturday.
The Kenyan, 34, is attempting the feat for the second time at the Ineos 1:59 Challenge in Vienna, having missed out by 26 minutes in Monza in 2017.
He is the current world record holder, because he will be aided by rotating pacemakers though this attempt will not count as an official record.
I am running to make history, he said.
I am running to show that there are no limits, no human is constrained.
Olympic champion Kipchoge, who won the London Marathon for the first season this season, clocked 25 moments in a similar attempt two hours as part of Nikes Breaking 2 project .
This time hell run the 26.2 miles over 4.4 laps of a 5.97-mile class in Prater park at the Austrian capital, with the route consisting of two 2.67-mile stretches and 2 little loops at each end.
The location was chosen because of the favourable climate, outstanding air quality and almost entirely flat terrain, using only 2.4 metres of incline over the entire route.
The attempt is being funded by petrochemicals business Ineos – owned by Britains wealthiest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe – which sponsors the biking team of the same name.
The Ineos team will choose a start time on Friday and analyzed the weather conditions before selecting Saturday as the attempt date, with Kipchoge trusting the course is going to be lined with spectators, unlike his previous attempt.
The program is very good – I feel more ready and I am positive, said Kipchoge.
It is not about believing,Am I really going to get it done? – Ive tried it the first time and the next time, Ill do it.
Kipchoge will be assisted by 41 pacemakers, that will be helped to keep a constant speed by a speed car that will beam lasers onto the street.
Even the pacemakers will rotate twice each lap and Kipchoge will be handed his drinks and energy gels from a bike every 3.1 kilometers, rather than picking them up from a table as in ordinary marathons.
These guides are not allowed under rules, which explains why sports world governing body, the IAAF, failed to recognise his first attempt as the marathon world record and will not sanction this one either.
Although the Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia fell of that mark in this seasons race the document broke by conducting 2:01:39 in the 2018 Berlin Marathon.
That operate in Berlin and also that this run in Vienna have been two distinct things, explained Kipchoge.
Berlin was running and breaking a world record – Vienna is operating and creating background, like the very first man to go to the moon.
I am attempting to remain as calm as you can.
Kipchoge was requested if breaking the two-hour barrier would be an increase for athletics picture after recent controversies.
After being found guilty of doping violations trainer Alberto Salazar has been banned and there have been sparsely populated stands for a lot of the recent World Championships in Doha.
In reaction, Kipchoge said:I will give you an illustration: In a garden there is blossoms and there are weeds.
In Vienna, we are speaking about the flowers. Lets focus on the flowers which may prosper and earn everybody in this world be pleased.
