Eliud Kipchoge says that he expects to reveal there areno limits by getting the first person to violate the two-hour marathon barrier on Saturday.
The Kenyan, 34, is attempting the effort for the second time in the Ineos 1:59 Challenge in Vienna, with missed by 26 seconds in Monza at 2017.
Hes the current world record holder, even though this effort will not count as a formal document as he will be assisted by pacemakers.
Im running to make history, he said.
I am running to show that there are no constraints, no human is limited.
Earlier this year, olympic champion Kipchoge, who won the London Marathon for the first season, clocked two weeks , 25 seconds in a attempt as part of Nikes Breaking 2 job .
This time he will conduct the 26.2 miles over 4.4 laps of a 5.97-mile course in Prater park at the Austrian capital, with the route consisting of two 2.67-mile stretches and two little loops at each end.
The location was chosen due to the favourable climate, outstanding air quality and almost completely flat terrain, with just 2.4 metres of incline over the entire route.
The effort has been funded by petrochemicals company Ineos – owned by Britains richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe – which sponsors the identical names biking team.
The Ineos team assessed the weather conditions and will choose a start time on Friday, with Kipchoge hoping the course will be lined with audiences.
The program is extremely good – Im more ready and I am certain, explained Kipchoge.
It is not about thinking,Am I going to do it? – I have tried it the first time and the second time, Ill do it.
Kipchoge is going to be assisted by 41 pacemakers, that is helped to keep a steady rate by a major speed car thatll beam lasers on the road.
The pacemakers will rotate twice each lap and Kipchoge will be handed his drinks and energy gels from a bicycle every 3.1 mph, instead of picking them up from a desk as in ordinary marathons.
These aids arent allowed under rules, which explains athletics world governing body, the IAAF, did not recognise his very first effort and will not sanction this one .
While the Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia dropped of that mark in this years race the record struck by running 2:01:39 in the 2018 Berlin Marathon.
That run in Berlin and that conduct in Vienna have been two distinct things, explained Kipchoge.
Berlin was breaking and running a world record – Vienna is running and creating history, like the very first man to visit the moon.
I am trying to stay as calm as you can.
Kipchoge was requested if breaking up the barrier would be a boost for sports image after controversies.
After being found guilty of doping violations leading coach Alberto Salazar has been banned from the sport for 3 years and there were sparsely populated stands for much of the current World Championships in Doha.
In reaction, Kipchoge said:I will give you an illustration: In a backyard theres flowers and you will find weeds.
In Vienna, were discussing the blossoms. Let us concentrate on the flowers which could flourish and earn everybody in this world be pleased.
